Proof of Work (PoW) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks to validate transactions and add new blocks to the chain. Miners use computational power to solve complex mathematical problems, and the first to solve it gets to add the block and receive a reward. This process secures the network and ensures the integrity of the blockchain.

KAWPOW​

KAWPOW is a mining algorithm based on ProgPoW, designed to be ASIC-resistant and GPU-friendly. It uses a combination of memory-hard and compute-intensive operations to ensure fair distribution of mining rewards and maintain network security.

Characteristics:​

  • ASIC-resistant: Prevents large-scale mining farms from dominating the network.
  • GPU-optimized: Suitable for consumer GPUs, making it accessible to individual miners.
